Dart Music Festival

The Countdown to the Dart Music Festival 2019 Has Begun!

Guest Blog Post – Dart Music Festival

Taking place on 10th, 11th and 12th of May, the Festival was started over 20 years ago and this year has over 100 acts performing in over 15 venues situated all around the town.  Our acts perform in venues as unique as an ancient fort, the ramparts of old castle walls, a fisherman’s church, an 11th century church, the river and, of course, our Victorian Bandstand. There are also open-air street-based performances making for a constant buzz of enjoyment.

To explore our complete line up featuring acts from genres across the board, visit our website: https://www.dartmusicfestival.co.uk/lineup.

Once again we will be providing all of the pubs with our branded collectable and most importantly REUSEABLE plastic glasses. Each plastic pint glass is branded with the Dart Music Festival logo and can be kept and re-used throughout the event and then taken home afterwards as a memento.

We strongly believe that this will help Dart Music Festival drastically reduce the amount of litter left behind long after the last notes fade away. For what IS left behind, we have are continuing in partnership with the pioneering people of Devon Contract Waste. Their remarkable new enterprise reduces the amount of rubbish that goes into landfill to ZERO! Zero to Landfill is a sustainable solution to waste management which provides materials to the manufacturing industry and creates jobs at all stages of the processing journey. It also saves resources and energy, reduces the Southwest’s carbon footprint, and promotes a sustainable business community. Further details can be found here: http://www.dcw.co.uk/zero-to-landfill.

For those of you who like to go paper-free, why not use our subscription service on the website which allows you to access the times and venues of the acts from your electronic devices. For more information, and also details of where to buy the physical programme, please check out the website: https://www.dartmusicfestival.co.uk/.

As always, we are sticking to our ethos of ‘Music For All’ meaning that everyone can enjoy the music completely free of charge.  However, the £70,000 costs to put the festival on do mount up, and you can contribute by becoming a sponsor, a ‘Festival Friend’, or simply by throwing some money in a collection bucket when you see one.  You can also show your support by purchasing something from our merchandise – DMF branded t-shirts, hoodies, rugby shirts, bags and the fantastically cuddly Dart Music Festival teddy bear!

For those of you who want to roll your sleeves up and get more involved, we are always on the look-out for willing volunteers to help us run the event – please let us know if you can help with collecting during the concerts, stewarding, running a venue, selling merchandise or generally mucking in – it’s all greatly appreciated, and it is so much fun! If you are interested, please drop us an email to enquiries@dartmusicfestival.co.uk.
