ABOUT
Overlooking some of the finest coastal views of any pub in the South Hams, the Kings Arms Community Pub is a genuine village pub with a large garden ten minutes from Dartmouth. Not only does it offer locally sourced food, local ales and ciders, and wines from local cellars, perhaps most importantly it also offers a genuine local community welcome.
The Kings Arms has been owned and run by the local community since 2020, but with a high level of hospitality experience in the volunteer management team the standards are always kept high. Consistently high Google review scores are a testament to that.
Located at the cliff village between Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, the journey there is as scenic as they come. There is car parking and the Number 3 bus stops 50 metres away.
The pub has a Grade II ornate frontage with a comfortable bar area downstairs. Walking up the stairs into the seating area people are always delighted by the views seen through the full-length sliding doors. Outside there is a large garden, with a great kids’ play area, and views across Blackpool Sands Bay to the Mew Stone and beyond.
Our lunch and dinner menus offer a range of crowd pleasing dishes, including Start Bay Cod & Chips, premium beef & vegan burgers, Hunters Chicken, and Roast Vegetable Lasagne…all homemade, and all locally sourced when possible.
We run a range of popular events, including a monthly quiz, monthly live music events, including our famous Open Mic Nights, the legendary Pirate Day and mark all the major national festivals and events.
We are a stopping place for walkers on the Coastal Path, local visitors and travellers from afar and are confident your dog will feel as welcome as you do.
