Get ready for a wonderful day of art, music and community spirit as Dart Art Day returns to the beautiful Royal Avenue Gardens in Dartmouth on Saturday 5th July, from 10am to 4pm. This much-loved event is held in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), and promises a heartwarming mix of creativity and kindness – all for a truly worthy cause.
Now a staple in Dartmouth’s summer calendar, Dart Art Day brings together 22 talented local artists and crafters, who will be showcasing and selling their work from colourful gazebos throughout the gardens. Expect a wide variety of handcrafted art, jewellery, ceramics, textiles and more – perfect for picking up a special piece while supporting a fantastic charity.
Alongside the arts and crafts, enjoy live music performances throughout the day, creating a lively and uplifting atmosphere in the heart of town. And no summer event is complete without delicious treats – visitors can look forward to homemade cakes, sandwiches and traditional cream teas, lovingly prepared by CHSW volunteers and supporters.
Dart Art Day is more than just a celebration of creativity – it’s an essential fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West, helping the charity to provide specialist care and emotional support to over 550 families with life-limited children across the region. Last year’s event raised over £4,000, and organisers are hoping to beat that total in 2025.
The CHSW Dartmouth & District Friends Group works tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds and awareness, meeting monthly to plan local events. If you’d like to find out more or offer your support – whether it’s volunteering your time or baking a cake – every little bit helps.
