Dart Music Festival – 17th – 19th May 

The Dart Music Festival began 25 years ago with a simple premise, to bring some great music into Dartmouth and provide a boost to the economy of the town after the long winter months. For three glorious days every May, every corner of Dartmouth comes alive with melodies, as artists and bands perform across various venues. This inclusive, free-to-attend event, set against the backdrop of Dartmouth’s stunning landscape, offers a unique experience where music and community spirit create an unforgettable atmosphere. 

Tunes On The Sand12th – 13th July 2024 

Set on the beautiful golden sands of Blackpool Sands, Tunes on the Sands is a weekend festival filled with music, great food and plenty of beach activities! This beachside festival brings a vibrant mix of live music, creating an atmosphere of exhilaration and relaxation by the sea. With its scenic location and eclectic line-up, it’s an essential summer destination for music lovers and beach enthusiasts alike. 

Classic Channel Regatta  – 17th – 25th July 2024 

In July we see the Classic Channel Regatta start their races in Dartmouth before heading to Start Bay and beyond through the English Channel. The Classic Channel Regatta is a splendid spectacle, bringing together vintage yachts in a celebration of maritime heritage. This biennial event features a stunning parade of classic boats, racing in the beautiful waters off Dartmouth. It’s not just a competition but a social gathering, steeped in nautical tradition, offering a feast for the eyes and a spirit of camaraderie among enthusiasts. 

Dartmouth Shakespeare Week – 30th July – 3rd August

Dartmouth Shakespeare Week is a theatrical delight, enchanting audiences with performances under the stars. Held at the atmospheric Dartmouth Castle, this event showcases the Bard’s timeless works, interpreted by talented actors. It’s a fusion of historical ambiance and dramatic artistry, offering an immersive experience in one of the UK’s most picturesque settings, ideal for both Shakespeare aficionados and casual theatre-goers. This year catch the fantastic comedy ‘Much Ado About Nothing’.

Dartmouth Regatta  – 29th August –  31st August 2024 

The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta is an iconic event, combining thrilling boat races with a festive atmosphere. This annual celebration, steeped in tradition, transforms the town into a hub of nautical and onshore activities. From spectacular fireworks to air displays and live music, it’s a vibrant mix of maritime competition and community festivity, drawing visitors and locals alike into its jubilant whirl. 

Dartmouth Food Festival25th – 27th October 2024 

Each year in October, the Dartmouth Food Festival celebrates local produce and food producers as well as local eateries and chefs. The festival is a culinary haven, showcasing the best of local and international cuisine. This gastronomic celebration features a medley of delicious food and drink, chef demonstrations, and interactive workshops. Food enthusiasts gather in the charming streets of Dartmouth to savour artisanal products and gourmet dishes, making it a perfect event for anyone passionate about food, community, and culture. 

2024 is also Dartmouth Food Festival’s 20th Anniversary! So, visitors can expect a vast array of extra special activities to mark the occasion.  

Dartmouth Galleries Festival – Date TBC

Due to Dartmouth’s artistic legacy, galleries across the town celebrate their artwork with Galleries Weeks, sometimes in May and October, typically starting on the Friday before half term, but the date for this year is yet to be announced. The galleries put on new exhibitions of work by both up-and-coming and established artists and give the public the opportunity to meet artists, watch demonstrations and maybe take home a unique piece themselves! 

Dartmouth Pride – Date TBC

Dartmouth Pride launched in 2021 and have been hosting annual events for the LGBTQIA+ community ever since. Last year the event kicked off with a new Pride Walk, starting from Coronation Park to Dartmouth Castle. It’s a fantastic event that brings a splash of colour to this town. There’s also usually festivities after the walk in the Old Market Square and also an after party for those who want to get a bit more lively! Dartmouth Good Food And Artisan Market2nd Saturday of Each Month 

Formerly the Dartmouth Farmers Market, The Dartmouth Good Food & Artisan Market is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9.30-3.30pm and offers a wide range of local, artisan products including sourdough bread, Dartmoor honey, locally baked cakes and savoury goods as well as home grown plants & flowers. This fantastic monthly event brings together the finest regional producers and artisans, offering a variety of fresh, quality food and unique crafts. It’s one not to miss!
