Dartmouth Shakespeare Week, Dartmouth Castle  

Date: 30th July – 3rd August 

Experience the magic of Shakespeare under the stars at Dartmouth Castle. The Inn Theatre Company presents ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ in this historic setting. Bring a picnic and enjoy the scenic backdrop before being swept away by Shakespearean drama. This event promises an evening of laughter and timeless entertainment. 

Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta 

Date: 24th – 31st August 

The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta is one of the most anticipated events of the summer.  

This week-long celebration, starting with the Family Fun Weekend from the 24th – 26th August, the opening ceremony on the 28th and the main Regatta event from the 29th – 31st, features thrilling rowing races, sailing competitions and an array of waterside activities.  

Enjoy the carnival atmosphere with live music, fireworks and street entertainment. The regatta attracts visitors from all over, making it a vibrant and bustling time to visit Dartmouth.

Festival of Archaeology at Greenway 

Date: 1st – 31st July 

Celebrate the Festival of Archaeology at Greenway, the former home of Agatha Christie and her husband, Max Mallowan.  

This self-led trail around the garden lets you uncover fascinating features hinting at Greenway‘s past. Inside the house, explore artefacts from Agatha and Max’s archaeological digs and even try dressing up like an archaeologist. 

Summer Evening Illuminations at Bababcombe Model Village  

Date: 23rd July – 12th September 

Step into a magical miniature world at Babbacombe Model Village in nearby Torquay.  

The annual Summer Evening Illuminations are a sight to behold with thousands of tiny lights and special effects creating an enchanting atmosphere.  

Make sure to visit during the day to catch all the intricate details of the models, then enjoy it all again after dusk to experience the village in a whole new light. Freshly made pizzas and refreshments will keep you fuelled as you explore this captivating attraction.

Get Wicked! At The Flavel Arts Centre 

Date: 26th July 

Swing into a new era with the 7-piece Electro Swing band, Get Wicked!  

Blending vintage swing with modern beats, their energetic performance is sure to get you dancing. Led by the dynamic Terrie-May, the band will take you on a musical journey from classics by Caro Emerald and Caravan Palace to unique reimaginings of popular tunes.  

Don’t miss this electrifying show at The Flavel Arts Centre. 

Summer of Play at Greenway and Coleton Fishacre  

Date: 27th July – 1st September 

Cirque Du Summer arrives to National Trust Greenway & Coleton Fishacre! 

This event offers a variety of activities to test your circus skills, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Activities are free with normal admission. If you’re driving to Greenway, be sure to book your parking in advance. Dive into the fun and create unforgettable summer memories!

The Flavel Fundraising Fete, Royal Avenue Gardens  

Date: 30th July & 21st August 

Support The Flavel while enjoying a delightful day out in the Royal Avenue Gardens 

From 10am to 4pm, the fete offers tea, coffee, cake and various stalls amidst the beautiful garden setting. No booking required—just turn up, soak in the sunshine, and contribute to a good cause. 

Party on the Patio at China Blue 

Date: 3rd August 

Head down to China Blue in Totnes for their Party on the Patio to celebrate their renovation!  

Enjoy a free glass of bubbly on arrival and entry into a raffle. Indulge in a BBQ crafted by the head chef, savour ice cream from Salcombe Dairy, and dance to live music by The Waves Collective. Tickets are just £2.50, with children under 12 admitted free. 

Spirit of Japan, The Flavel Arts Centre  

Date: 26th August – 7th September 

Immerse yourself in the rich culture of Japan with the Spirit of Japan exhibition at The Flavel Arts Centre. Featuring traditional and modern artworks from both established and emerging Japanese artists, this exhibition fosters cross-cultural communication and offers a glimpse into Japan’s fascinating artistic landscape.  

Admission is free, so don’t miss this unique cultural experience.

Staring Ryan Renolds and John Krazinski, IF tells the enchanting tale of a girl and the imaginary friends left behind by their real-life counterparts.  

Kinds of Kindness (18) 

Date: 20th July – 1st August 

Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable following a man who tries to take control of his own life, a policeman whose wife seems like a different person, and a woman who searches for someone with a special ability. Staring Willam Dafoe, Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.

The Garfield Movie (U)  

Date: 23rd – 31st July 

Join the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, Garfield, and his canine buddy Odie on a hilarious adventure after an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father and street cat, Vic. 

Despicable Me 4 (U) 

Date: 2nd – 29th August 

Gru and his family face new challenges in Despicable Me 4 as they welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. Plus, Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina. 

A Quiet Place: Day One (15) 

Date: 2nd – 15th August 

A prequel to the post-apocalyptic thriller, A Quiet Place: Day One shows us the moment when the Earth fell silent. A small group of survivors must come together in absolute silence if they want to see a brand new dawn.
