Promising a day of cracking crab fun, Salcombe Crabfest is taking place on 2nd May 2021. Now in its fifth year, this action-packed charity event celebrates Salcombe’s exceptional fishing and tourism industries, with an atmospheric mix of demonstrations from locally and nationally acclaimed chefs, tempting street stalls, culinary competitions and live music.

This one-day event is free to attend and is organised by The Rotary Club of Salcombe in South Devon. Designed to not only showcase Salcombe’s world famous brown crab, the day also raises proceeds for local charities. To date, donations from Crabfest events now total over £40,000 cumulatively, directly benefitting organisations within the community, including local cancer support charity The Triangle Centre and Devon Air Ambulance.

This year’s highlights are set to include a multitude of family friendly activities and entertainment for all ages. Pop along to the Chef Demo Tent in the Creek Car Park and watch demonstrations from locally and nationally acclaimed chefs – there is even the opportunity to taste the dishes they have created before your eyes!

Stroll along Island Street, which for one day only becomes a pedestrianised market, lined with street stalls selling gifts, souvenirs and foodie delights. Catch one of the crab picking masterclasses and learn new skills, before buying a whole crab to take home. Or why not simply sit back and relax on the quayside, sampling some fantastic local food and drink whilst listening to superb live music. The children are well catered for too – there are free activities, competitions and so much more… a recipe for a fun family day out.

The annual three day Dart Music Festival is now in its 24th year. The event will be held in the port and town of Dartmouth, at the mouth of the River Dart.

With over 100 performances spanning almost every musical genre, the festival offers an eclectic mix of orchestral, rock, choral, blues, opera, folk, and jazz performances at a variety of indoor and outdoor venues including two churches, the bandstand in the Park, outside the castle, and various hotels, pubs, and restaurants, throughout the weekend. And its all FREE to listen to!

The Dart Music Festival’s motto is Music for All. Since it’s inception in 1998, the Festival has attracted thousands of visitors and has become one of the stars in Dartmouth’s calendar, appealing to old and young alike. There are many events from individual, group, and local school performances, to storytelling, dance displays and workshops.

This family-friendly festival is free, and features some of the finest acts in the South West.

Foodies will be faced with mouth-watering dilemmas between Thai, Indian, sushi, paella, street food, wood-fired pizzas, pasties, ice cream, or locally baked sweet treats.

Little ones will be keen to visit the Kids’ Zone for nature-inspired craft activities, while the adults are sure to enjoy the buzzing cocktail and cider bar, or the selection of quality real ales and local wines.

The 18th annual Dartmouth Art & Craft Weekend in aid of Children’s Hospice South West. An interesting and fun weekend to watch, talk to and buy from so many artists and craft workers displaying their talents.

Children’s activities and music, with teas, homemade cakes and snacks provided by Children’s Hospice volunteers. Pitches are available for artists and craft workers to display/sell their work at £70 for the two days; a gazebo will be required.
