Summer in Dartmouth is magical – the South West Coast Path provides wonderful scenery along the coast, and there are beautiful local beaches to explore along the way.
But Summer in Dartmouth also means celebrations and fantastic events that showcase this beautiful towns variety that everyone can enjoy – couples, groups and families.

Britannia Royal Naval College Open Day 8th July
A unique opportunity to see inside the Dartmouth Royal Naval College and learn about its history, whilst enjoying the stalls, demonstrations and family entertainment along the way.
Venus Loving the Beach Festival 8th July
Held at Blackpool Sands beach, enjoy a day of music, food and entertainment with this one of a kind beach festival. Local bands, local food and local beer, what more could you ask for?
Kingsbeer Festival 14th – 16th July
Set in the beautiful village of Kingsweer, enjoy over 60 local ales, beers and ciders whilst enjoying stunning views of the River Dart and Dartmouth – the perfect place to watch the sun set. Local bands will also be playing – and its also free if you arrive by steam train!
Dartmouth Shakespeare Week 25th – 29th July
One of the highlights of the Dartmouth events calendar, this year the Inn Theatre Company presents Othello, outdoors in the grounds of Dartmouth Castle – what better way to spend a summers evening than enjoying a picnic watching one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays?
Rockfish Crab Party 30th July
Join renowned chefs Mitch Tonks and Angela Hartnett for a street party like no other. Spend the afternoon enjoying delicious South Devon Crab, local wine and listening to music on Dartmouth Embankment in the sunshine.
Woofstock 5th August
The only festival for dogs! If you are a dog owner or just a dog lover – head to Dartmouth Woofstock for a one of a kind event. A great family day out there are demonstrations, dog shows, live music, food and drink stalls, as well as an inflatable pub! For the dogs there is a chill out zone, doggy ice-cream and even doggy massage.
Dartmouth Sailing Week 19th – 26th August
Whether you’re a sailor or just like to watch the boats go by – Dartmouth Sailing week is a great opportunity to watch or participate in a range of boating events, from dinghies to yachts, enjoy sailing at its best.
Dartmouth Regatta 24th – 27th August
The pinnacle event of Dartmouth’s summer programme. A full three-day event with air displays, sailing, sports, live music, street food, fireworks and more. Named as the best in the west; the whole town comes out to celebrate, and it attracts visitors from across the UK.
