Boat Float
Right in the heart of Dartmouth, the Boat Float or inner harbour makes for a stunning photo opportunity with its quaint vessels and surrounding historic buildings.
Bayards Cove Fort
On the water’s edge you’ll find the 16th century Bayards Cove Fort. The windows of the fort make natural frames for views of the river – an Instagram favourite with those who visit! The fort itself is currently undergoing important restoration work so be sure to visit again once it’s finished!
Dartmouth Castle

Guarding the mouth of the river, Dartmouth Castle is a short walk from the town centre and offers superb views of the River Dart and out to sea.
River Dart/Embankment
From the water or the embankment along the front of Dartmouth, the River Dart is photogenic in its own right; shimmering water and speckled with colourful yachts, what more do you need for an Instagram-worthy shot?
Jawbone Hill

Head out of Dartmouth town centre and up to Jawbone Hill and you will be greeted with one of the best views overlooking this harbourside resort and the river. The interestingly shaped trees also add a little something extra to those holiday snaps.
Little Dartmouth
On the South West Coast Path between Dartmouth Castle and Stoke Fleming is Little Dartmouth. This stretch of coastline provides unparalleled views and a chance to discover the secluded coves that lie along the shoreline.
Dittisham
Just up river from Dartmouth is the quaint village of Dittisham, with colourful cottages, picture-perfect vistas and cosy pubs, a photo of this gorgeous place won’t go amiss on your Instagram feed.

Home to jagged rock faces, crystal cerulean waters and long views out toward the ocean, Sugary Cove is the ideal instagrammable spot, and it’s not far from Dartmouth Castle so you can get two in one outing!
Royal Avenue Gardens
Situated in the centre of town, Royal Avenue Gardens is a place of relaxation, popular among locals and tourists the gardens provide a perfect backdrop for a picnic and the fountain and bandstand snap a pretty picture for your social media.

On the opposite side of the River Dart on the headland above Kingswearis The Daymark. Standing proudly overlooking the entrance to the Dart, this historical landmark truly is a show stopper.
