Easter in Dartmouth

With its warm sunshine, blooming daffodils and wildlife in abundance, the joys of spring start early in Dartmouth. Alongside all the fantastic attractions and activities, you can do in and around Dartmouth, the town and surrounding area also plays host to a number of egg-citing events!  

Read on to discover all the fantastic events in and around Dartmouth over the Easter holidays.   

Festival of Blossom at Greenway Estate

Date: 21st March – 28th April 

Located on the edge of the River Dart, Greenway was previously the holiday home of Agatha Christie, now owned by the National Trust.   

Between the 21st March – 28th April they’re hosting their fabulous Festival of Blossom to celebrate the arrival of Spring. Pick up a free blossom-spotter sheet and have a go at identifying the types of blossoms at Greenway.  

You can also take a photo under the beautiful blossom archway or have a go at creating some blossom origami in the house kitchen.  

Wonderglow Light Trail at Dartington Hall 

Dates, 22nd – 24th March, 29th – 31st March & 1st – 13th April 

This Easter, head to Dartington Hall to take part in the Wonderglow Light Trail, an immersive experience, inspired by Lewis Caroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, complete with enchanting paths, swirling lights, magical forests and themed-food and drink vendors.  

The trail is a mile long and outdoors on pathways through Dartington’s Grade 2 Listed Gardens so be sure to wear weather appropriate attire and suitable footwear. 

Children’s Hospice South West Easter Fair at Dartmouth Old Market 

Date: 23rd March, 10am – 3pm 

Head along to The Old Market in Dartmouth for a fun Easter Fair in aid of Children’s Hospice South West on Saturday 23rd March from 10am to 3pm! There will be a prize for the best Easter hat and stalls will be selling lovely crafts, books, jewellery, cakes, gifts and much more. All proceeds from this event will help CHSW to provide essential specialist care and support for over 550 families with life-limited children in the South West.    

Easter Egg Trail at Babbacombe Model Village 

Date: 23rd March – 13th April 

Located in the seaside resort of Torquay in the English Riviera, Babbacombe Model Village is a unique attraction, home to over 400 miniature models.  

Hop on over to Babbacombe Model Village this Easter to take part in their Easter Egg Trail; find all the colourful eggs hidden in the garden and you’ll receive a special prize!  

The 9-hole crazy golf course will add an exciting extra dimension of fun for the whole family. The course and trail are included in your admission tickets. 

Head over on the 31st March, 2nd, 4th or 9th April to see their Easter illuminations where the park will be beautifully lit as the sun goes down! 

Easter Egg Hunt at Greenway 

Date: 23rd March – 14th April 

Greenway will also play host to their own Easter Egg Hunt alongside the Blossom Festival from the 23rd March – 14th April!  

Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family. Prices are £3 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan chocolate egg. 

Also on the 10th April, local beekeeper John will be there to teach you all about beekeeping and why bees are so vital to the environment!   

Easter Egg Hunt at Coleton Fishacre House & Gardens 

Date: 23rd March – 14th April 

Located in Kingswear on the opposite side of the River Dart, Coleton Fishacre is a stunning 1920s Art and Crafts-style home, previously home to the D’Oyly Family and now owned by the National Trust.  

 Over the Easter Holidays take part in their insect-inspired nature trail and explore the beautiful gardens. Prices are £3 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan chocolate egg.  

Forest Bathing at Dittiscombe Estate & Cottages 

Date: 30th March, 11:30am – 2:30pm 

Dittiscombe Estate is a stunning rural valley estate, located in Slapton. 

This spring, take part in their Forest Bathing event where you can step into the magic of the woods for an immersive experience to enjoy the healing power or nature. This guided walk allows you to let go of any day-to-day stresses and invite relaxation into your body and mind.  

The Ultimate Bubble Show at The Flavel Arts Centre 

Date: 3rd April, 2pm – 3:30pm

If you’re looking for a unique event to entertain the kiddies this Easter, why not catch The Ultimate Bubble Show at The Flavel?

This is a fast paced show full of high energy and surprises as Ray, International Bubbleologist (who knew there was such a thing?!) and Guinness World Record Holder, uses various gases to create incredible bubble sculptures, effects and displays. Doesn’t that sound ‘unbublievably‘ fun?

Films at The Flavel Arts Centre 

The Flavel is a fantastic arts centre situated in the heart of Dartmouth. From Film screenings and live music to theatre shows, The Flavel has something for everyone!  

Over the Easter Holidays, The Flavel will be showcasing a number of films, including Migration, a family-friendly animated comedy about a family of migrating ducks, Wicked Little Letters, a 15-rated mystery comedy movie based on a true story and Dune: Part 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to Dune, based on the books by Frank Herbert. Book a family ticket to any of the films for just £25!
