The Magic of Science at The Flavel Art Centre (2nd April) 

Top Secret will be coming to The Flavel Arts Centre on the 2nd April to host their interactive event: The Magic of Science; they’re fusing the mystery of magic with miraculous feats of science! The venue will be transformed into a real-life science laboratory and its aim is to inspire and educate young budding magicians and scientists as well as providing a fun and entertaining experience for all the family. 

 

Explore Dartmouth Castle 

For over 600 years Dartmouth Castle has guarded the entrance to the Dart Estuary and port of Dartmouth. This attraction offers a fabulous day out for the whole family; you’ll love discovering the fascinating weapons and defences owned by the castle and breathtaking views of the Estuary are available to those who fancy a climb to the top of the castle. You can extend this day by exploring the other nearby historic sites such as Bayards Cove Fort or spend the afternoon at one of the nearby beaches. If you’re looking to make the day extra special, you can enjoy a tasty lunch or cream tea at Dartmouth Castle Tearooms. 

 

Easter Egg Hunts at Greenway Estate and Coleton Fishacre (2nd – 18th  April) 

Over the Easter holidays, National Trust-owned estates Greenway House and Garden and Coleton Fishacre will be hosting an EGG-cellent scavenger hunt across their grounds. Pick up a map before you make your way through the grounds and along the trail whilst hunting for signs of animals and completing various activities in the gardens. If you complete the trail, you’ll win a special Easter-themed prize! 

 

Easter Egg Trail at Babbacombe Model Village, Torquay (2nd – 24th April) 

The whole family will enjoy a trip to the impressive Babbacombe Model Village this half term! Based in the sea-side resort of Babbacombe in Torquay, this unique attraction is home to 458 models including their fabulous model railway, and they have recently opened a new 9-hole crazy golf course; visitors get one round included for free with their admission ticket. They are hosting their Easter Egg Trail over half term, if you can spot all their colourful eggs hidden in and around the grounds you could win a sweet treat! 

 

Enjoy a performance or a film at The Flavel Art Centre 

The Flavel Arts Centre has an excellent array of Kid’s Club film screenings over half term. They are currently offering special Movie Meal Deals, giving you the option to enjoy a meal with your cinema ticket from Bayards Cove Inn, George and Dragon or Spice Merchant. The Flavel will also be showcasing live music from Flook and comedy from Jimmy Carr, as well as live Royal Opera House and National Theatre screenings throughout half term, including The Book of Dust and Henry V 

 

Children’s Hospice South West Easter Fair at The Old Market, Dartmouth (2nd April) 

From 10am – 3pm on Saturday 2nd April, Children’s Hospice South West are raising funds by hosting an exciting Easter Market at The Old Market in the town centre. There will be lots of lovely items available to buy including cakes, cards, jewellery and much more! Dashing Devon Dukes will be performing in the square, and you can even win a prize for the best Easter hat! Pop down to support this wonderful cause! 

 

Dartmouth Farmers Market at The Old Market, Dartmouth (9th April)  

Having a browse around a market is a lovely way to spend the morning. The renowned Dartmouth Farmer’s Market returns to The Old Market Square on the 9th April. The square is an ancient, picturesque pannier market, surrounded by plenty of independent shops. Local farmers and businesses will be selling fresh, local, and seasonal produce, alongside some tasty artisanal food products.
